hot

In the summer months blinds are kept down in Seville to keep the heat and the light out at midday. No view out of the window, but a cooler atmosphere indoors.

  3. I have got to show this to a friend of mine. She'll love the colours! And yep, one of the best ways to beat the heat; keep the room dark and cool.

  5. Such colorful buildings!! Around America, you just don't see the 'liveliness' like you've oftentimes shown. Wish we had that sense of cheeriness.

  7. It does look hot! Now I'm waiting to find a place where you can buy gelato or any ice cream for that matter for less than $7! Yup... Tourists do it.. Crazy...

    Hope you are staying cool!

  8. I don't blame them one bit and will be looking for those type blinds for my house too! my current choice of fabric I happen to have around the house isn't quite as effective and is awefully ugly!

  9. That's a beautiful shot and boy can I relate to hot. I know people that don't understand how I let my bushes grow up so high around my windows but having a one story house that in addition to large shade trees helps me beat the heat. I don't close my blinds all the way but it makes sense in tall buildings that can't have a green shade to do that. I have central air conditioning but my bills are much lower than my neighbors because of how shaded I have the hot spots.

  10. I LOVE that house! I want an orange house just like that! I do find it interesting that the shades are put down OVER the railing instead of behind the railing. I'm betting that is so some breeze comes in through open windows? This sO reminds me, I STILL need to get blinds for my kitchen!!! LOL!

  17. Beautiful pictures !

But what did I suffer 40 years ago when I had to stay behind these blinds which kept the heat out ! I had to eat big meals and were shown around and outside the sun was shining ! Today most of the people we know have airco !

  18. Charming windows! Even with those long blinds, they are still filled with character! And love the little pots beside each one!
