Small, vulnerable and very sad is how I feel now because we lost Mr. Mar's best friend in a terrible accident in Germany yesterday...He was only 49 and had two small girls, ages 9 and 6, and a lovely young wife... I already had this picture ready for this week's theme and I am posting it early because life goes on and maybe blogging can ease a bit my pain, by focusing on other things... Hug your loved ones. And please understand possible delayed visits on my side.
Updated on 12/15 to say thank you, from the bottom of our aching heart. Your words of comfort and sympathy are greatly appreciated.

Das ist ja eine schreckliche Nachricht, kann mir vorstellen wie es Dir jetzt zumute ist besonders wenn man die Person gut kannte und dann auch noch so jung sterben. Die arme Familie !
ReplyDeleteYour colons are really high and make feel small indeed ! Didn't think of that, I took a Fiat 500 for example.
Kind of puts things in perspective when you stand next to something like that...

Connie

Oh Mar, I'm so sorry. How terrible.
ReplyDelete(Great photo for small.)
Sorry Mar - there's not a lot else I can say. Poor family
ReplyDeleteWhat happens to your comments ? they are all decorated with "B's" ??
ReplyDeleteIt is the same in Italy, the nativity scene is a must and leads to competitions between people. Sometimes they are really artwork. Trees came only up very late, Mr. Gattino didn't have any unless we got married. I used to put up the Christmas tree when I had time just before Christmas I worked and it wasn't possible to put it up on the 24th. My father got a nervous breakdown because of that (Das macht man nicht) but that was his problem. It has changed in Germany too, some people put it up beginning December or whenever they want to. But real candles are still "in" my friend in Köln still does it despite the fact that she raised 3 children and has now 4 grandchildren plus cats !!
oh! Mar... *Hug* *Hug*. Hopefully his wife and kids will go on well. Sometimes, we are just too small and have no power to control the happenings too. :(
ReplyDeleteYes, I would feel really small too. Great photo and fabulous angled shot!!!
ReplyDeleteMar, please send my sympathies to Mr. Mar and of course to you and your friend's family. I'm so sorry.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear the bad news. I hope you're doing absolutely fine there.

I am so sorry for your loss, what a terrible thing to happen and as you say makes you feel the need to express your love to those you care about.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful photo too.
I like your concept of comparison. Yes, we are comparatively small in size but we build gigantic buildings. It's so amazing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting and have a great weekend.
That's a wonderful picture mar. It's good for you to feel life has to go on after such dreadful news, though often hard to put into practice. My thoughts are with you. Take care.

Mar, my dear...Sooooo sorry to read this terrible and shocking news. You and Mr. Mar must be devistated! And how terrible for his young family....! Sometimes it is hard to understand these things...Such a young man, cut down in his prime...! Why? I know there is no answer but this kind of terrible accident and loss makes me very angry, in a certain way....It is so very unfair. I send both you and Mr. Mar my very very best and a big virtual hug to you both....I am so deeply sorry for your loss, my dear Mar.
ReplyDeleteI can see how you feel small standing under those columns... it's a great shot.
ReplyDeleteHow sad that you had to bring such heartbreaking news in the same post. Ich finde nie die richtigen Worte in solch einer Situation - wahrscheinlich, weil es die gar nicht gibt. Es ist so traurig...
I will probably look smaller if I stand beside those hehehehhehe..
