Small is how I felt when I looked up these columns (Genoa, Italy)

Please leave your link in the comments if your profile isn't available!!

Small, vulnerable and very sad is how I feel now because we lost Mr. Mar's best friend in a terrible accident in Germany yesterday...He was only 49 and had two small girls, ages 9 and 6, and a lovely young wife... I already had this picture ready for this week's theme and I am posting it early because life goes on and maybe blogging can ease a bit my pain, by focusing on other things... Hug your loved ones. And please understand possible delayed visits on my side.

Updated on 12/15 to say thank you, from the bottom of our aching heart. Your words of comfort and sympathy are greatly appreciated.

  3. Das ist ja eine schreckliche Nachricht, kann mir vorstellen wie es Dir jetzt zumute ist besonders wenn man die Person gut kannte und dann auch noch so jung sterben. Die arme Familie !
Your colons are really high and make feel small indeed ! Didn't think of that, I took a Fiat 500 for example.

  38. What happens to your comments ? they are all decorated with "B's" ??

It is the same in Italy, the nativity scene is a must and leads to competitions between people. Sometimes they are really artwork. Trees came only up very late, Mr. Gattino didn't have any unless we got married. I used to put up the Christmas tree when I had time just before Christmas I worked and it wasn't possible to put it up on the 24th. My father got a nervous breakdown because of that (Das macht man nicht) but that was his problem. It has changed in Germany too, some people put it up beginning December or whenever they want to. But real candles are still "in" my friend in Köln still does it despite the fact that she raised 3 children and has now 4 grandchildren plus cats !!

Oh, I am sorry to learn about what happened. At this vulnerable time especially with the coming holidays, you can have to be strong especially for the family of Mr. Mar's best friend.

  55. Mar, my dear...Sooooo sorry to read this terrible and shocking news. You and Mr. Mar must be devistated! And how terrible for his young family....! Sometimes it is hard to understand these things...Such a young man, cut down in his prime...! Why? I know there is no answer but this kind of terrible accident and loss makes me very angry, in a certain way....It is so very unfair. I send both you and Mr. Mar my very very best and a big virtual hug to you both....I am so deeply sorry for your loss, my dear Mar.
