Castle of São Jorge overlooking Lisbon, the city where I spent the last 5 days. The castle is located atop the highest hill in the historic center of the city, its oldest parts date from the 6th century.Source.
I was trying to decide where to start blogging about Lisbon, Theme Thursday came to my rescue!
Look at all of those multi-family dwellings! Too many people. I was so busy being overwhelmed I almost missed the castle.
ReplyDeleteVery nice there. Nice photos.
ReplyDeleteIt seems so out of place to have all those high rise appartments below a castle. Like pairing Champagne and Kool-Aid.
ReplyDeleteOh I hope you show us more of Lisbon and tell us more, too, my dear. I count on you to take me places I won't ever be able to go to...lol!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. It reminds me of Salzburg, Austria.
ReplyDeleteDona Nobis Pacem & Thursday Thirteen

ReplyDeleteI jussssssst can not imagine LIVING where real castles exist! In America that is such a Fairy Tale concept! It's beautiful though... truly!
ReplyDeleteLike a collage into the past, no?

ReplyDeleteWow....I'm always sooooooo jealous of Europe and their culture and pride in their history. Amazing photo Mar.
ReplyDeleteLisbon looks like a beautiful city.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Lisbon but it is reminiscent of the fort atop Salzberg or so many other European medieval towns. Looks imposing. Are you going to post your holiday pics? You know I travel vicariously! Cheers :) Have a good weekend

ReplyDeleteI like how its sitting there impressively over the towns goings-on
I know just what you mean about where to start. Same thing happens to me about certain places. It looks like a fun castle. I really need to plan to a trip to Portugal and Spain someday!
