... with a broken leg. I took this picture from the car (I wasn't driving, though) and thanks to go*ogle I know now it is more than just a chair.
The 12 metre high 5.5 tons monumental wood sculpture by the Swiss artist Daniel Berset represents a giant chair with a broken leg and stands on the Place des Nations, in Geneva. It symbolises opposition to land mines and cluster bombs, and acts as a reminder to politicians visiting Geneva. Source
It's extremely impressive, it looks huge!
ReplyDeleteAmazingly big - thanks for sharing the interesting story behind the chair too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday and a great week ahead :-)
wow! I wonder how many have tried to climb up to the seat. and is the seat solid so it could provide shelter?
ReplyDeleteVery effective image. The artist chose well for making his point. That chair looks mighty and strong, but it wouldn't be much good for anything.
ReplyDeleteI need a ladder.... cuz you knOw I wanna SIT in it!
ReplyDeleteGreat picture...is this for the Jolly Greeen Giant? Great story :)
ReplyDeleteHow long has that chair been there. I do not remember it!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THE point it makes
Did you see the person with only half a leg in that same picture?
ReplyDeleteCome and see my dackel babies! They are beautiful!
That's amazing.
ReplyDeleteHow fascinating! And how great that you saw it and photographed it!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting idea to promote action on such an important issue. It would certainly make people look twice to figure out what it was about.
