giant chair

... with a broken leg. I took this picture from the car (I wasn't driving, though) and thanks to go*ogle I know now it is more than just a chair.

The 12 metre high 5.5 tons monumental wood sculpture by the Swiss artist Daniel Berset represents a giant chair with a broken leg and stands on the Place des Nations, in Geneva. It symbolises opposition to land mines and cluster bombs, and acts as a reminder to politicians visiting Geneva. Source

  3. wow! I wonder how many have tried to climb up to the seat. and is the seat solid so it could provide shelter?

  4. Very effective image. The artist chose well for making his point. That chair looks mighty and strong, but it wouldn't be much good for anything.

  10. What an interesting idea to promote action on such an important issue. It would certainly make people look twice to figure out what it was about.
