My fireplace. I know: it needs some cleaning!! Unfortunately, there are no Schornsteinfeger (chimney sweep) in Spain, the way they have them in Germany. So we are left on our own to domestic (not as efficient) procedures... The magical products from the store do not work!
I skipped take four because Sundays are bad for blogging, particularly in the summer time... I am very behind in my blogging (both visiting and posting!), I have many posts in mind which at least is a step ahead. But I am leaving this Friday for ten days (the Alps are calling my name) and then everything will be old...I guess I can always have a flash-back, every so often...! Now I have some catching up to do!
Must be a rough life, having to travel all the time to new and exciting places. No time to stay home and scrub the fireplace big enough to roast a whole cow in.
ReplyDeleteI'm not kidding, that fireplace is bigger than my bathroom!
What a big fireplace! You say you will in Marseille friday!!! have you a short time we could take a drink together with Anaïs, my daughter if she's free?!
ReplyDeleteI love your fireplace :) Soot is ideal for Project Black!
ReplyDeleteNever mind your chemney looks nice ! So you are climbing in the Alps soon !
ReplyDeleteTerrific fireplace! Large, yes... lol... I notice the plant before the need for cleaning. Yea for the Alps... but everything will be old to who?
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful fireplace Mar. I don't worry about cleaning mine although we do have chimney sweeps which I get in every 5 years mostly so the part above the fireplace stays clear.
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhhhhhhhh, enjoy the trip to the Alps!!! I bet it's beautiful there in the summer.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful dirty fireplace!!! I love that you have no doors or screen on it!
ReplyDeleteYou can play all those flashbacks by joining that Monday Memories meme... Of course, I never did... I just remember when I want to... but I do MUCH better in the present! My memory is ummmm... not as good as it once was!
I don't know, I think the black makes it look used and cozy. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Call me jealous of your fireplace...I don't even care that it needs cleaning.
ReplyDeleteMy fireplace is gas (all that's allowed now where we live) and because it's a box in the wall there is dust on top of the box (where I can't get to it) and when you fire up the fire it stinks. :p I need to break down and call up a fireplace place to see if they have any cleaning tips.
no chimney sweeps in spain? strange...
ReplyDeletebeautiful fireplace, though, and a perfect project black shot.
Wow! That's beautiful! If it were cleaner it wouldn't be nearly as dramatic and beautiful a photo. Cute chimney sweep icon too.
ReplyDeleteThis is a BIG Traveling time for you me dear Mar....Youre Boat trip, and now..."The Alps"....I know you all love it there and I certainly understand why....Have a FABULOUS Time, my dear...
ReplyDeleteAnd as far as your Fireplace? I LOVE the way it loks. It lloks like you enjoy it, a lot!
The black is nice. It even has a shiny look to it. Have fun in the Alps. Sounds like a wonderful trip.
ReplyDeleteYour fireplace is beautiful! Not surprisingly, it looks well used...lots of good times in front of it I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful and big fireplace. You cook in it?
ReplyDeleteGoing to the Alps!? You lucky woman!
*squeeze mar*
That is a huge fireplace!! WOW!! We used to clean our own when we have a fireplace. Hubby would get on the roof and lower down the BIG brush on a rope and we would work it back and forth until we got the soot all cleaned out!! it was a mess but we got it done. Great picture for black because it is so dirty..UGH!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great trip..The Alps..Oh I so envy you..Sandy
W>ow that's a very nice fireplace! I love it, it looks a lot like the ones I photographed on Sunday! I'm behind on visiting too, the weather has been a little bit better here in Belgium, and one has to enjoy that before anything else!
ReplyDeleteHave a great trip to the Alps, enjoy your holliday!
