Ode To Wine
Day-colored wine,
night-colored wine,
wine with purple feet
or wine with topaz blood,
wine,
starry child
of earth,
wine, smooth
as a golden sword,
soft
as lascivious velvet,
wine, spiral-seashelled
and full of wonder,
amorous,
marine;
never has one goblet contained you,
one song, one man,
you are choral, gregarious,
at the least, you must be shared.
Pablo Neruda

ReplyDeleteMar, great pictures and a wonderful poem by Neruda. Thanks so much! I love your other wordless Wednesday photo "the urban sail" and the street sign. You have a good eye. I'm going to make a favicon, too! Thanks again. :)
ReplyDeleteI like that sign better than a big one in Virginia, USA of a huge pack of cigarettes!
ReplyDeleteI see he loves wine like I love tea, and he's a much better poet than me!
ReplyDeleteThat's a cool sign. Love the shot.
ReplyDeleteI love that sign and I love the poem. I had to go to my Word documents to find My 13 year old's poem from last night to show you
ReplyDeleteOde to Gum
The moment I placed you in my mouth
I felt an ice storm building up.
The icicles formed and
Cooled the fleshy presence of my gums and tongue.
Your cold sensation tingled my body
And your reviving flavor opened my sinuses.
Your white coverings reminded my of snow
And your stretchiness wrapped my tongue.
O thank you Polar Ice for you calming goodness.
You are like one of a goddess.
The refreshing properties that you hold with in you,
Were finally released with every last chew
