This is the view from my sister's appartment (13th floor) with a view of the Manquehue hill, which is 1.640 m/5300ft high and a popular trekking place in Santiago, which in turn has an elevation of 530 m/1.700 ft .
Manquehue means "place of condors", and comes from the Mapuche (Indian) words manque, which means condor, and hue, which means place.
I have posted this pic before, it was taken during a past visit but the view hasn't changed! Pls note the beautiful blue/purple jacaranda trees, they are all over the city. I have been busy catching up with little time for new pictures but this will change asap, stay tuned for more!
I love views. So many people take for granted the beauty around them. Your sister is so lucky to have this splendid view from her home!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE Jacaranda Treees, Mar....We have them here and there are just a couple of weeks in the spring when they are in full bloom..Then those BEAUTIFUL lavender blossoms cover the sidewalks and roads like a lovely blanket---and then, it is over for another year, I am sorry to say! I thought this picture looked familiar....But it is GREAT to see it once again!
