This is an odd plant I saw in Gran Canaria, not this weekend but the one before (I think that's still within the rules for the weekend snapshot!). I have never seen anything like it and I thought maybe you can tell me something about this plant. It grew very long, as you can see in the first picture. The second one is the most my zoom allowed, it is not very clear but you get the idea. Can you name this plant?
Update: Anonymous did! Thank you so much but... why didn't you leave your name????? :(
Thanks, Anon, it is a burro's tail

I don't have any idea what it's called but it's beautiful. If you put Christmas ornaments on it, it would pass as a Christmas decor =)
ReplyDeleteI've seen them in Fuerteventura too, but not hanging down that long. I've no idea what it's called though. Maybe it's something common for the Canarian Islands?
ReplyDeleteI have several posts that have had to wait because of life lately too. Suddenly several of them, it's very unusual otherwise.
Note to myself: come back her tomorrow for the sand sculptures!!!!!!
Cool plant. No idea what it is!
ReplyDeleteYour 5 wishes are great!
Hi Mar,
ReplyDeleteI don't know what that plant is but it looks almost like rope. It's wild looking. I love unusual plants so I enjoyed this post. Take care, Carver
I'm kinda betting that Naomi could name this plant! I'm sure it's some kind of succulent! And nobody knows her succulents and cacti like Naomi does! It IS a verrrrry cool plant! Looks like braids!

What a weird plant! It looks a bit like lots of strands of rope hanging down :)
ReplyDeleteWhatever the plant is, I Do Know It Has to Be Wicked prickly...like a cactus?
ReplyDeleteI think that plant is a hoya - or in that family.
ReplyDeleteVery cool plant...it reminds me of this plant that I really like called a "Rabbit's Foot Fern"...I like the fern because it grows these roots above the earth that make the plant appear to be crawling out of it's pot...and the roots have what looks like hair on them...very soft.
ReplyDeleteCool pictures! That's neat how they thought to put the plants where they'll continue to grow like that.
I've never seen anything quite like that before.
ReplyDeleteThat's really a strange plant ! Looks like a rope. Never seen any like that. Your Christmas wishes are very modest, lol ! I wished it was already over ! Family harmony ... with that girl ???
