My weekend began on Wednesday last week as we went to Hamburg, Germany (a 2-hour- plus- a- few-minutes flight) for a few days, a business trip which also allowed us to visit family and friends. It wasn't as cold as I expected it to be but it was very cloudy as the pictures below show. The first one is the Kennedy Brücke, the Kennedy Bridge, built in 1952-53:
Here is das Rathaus, the City Hall again (a summer picture was posted in the prior post!) with many swans swimming around. They will be soon taken to a special place where they spend the winter months.
I took the above picture from the bridge you see below! If you stand there you can see the Kennedy Bridge.
And finally a night picture of the City Hall. Sorry about the poor quality, but I love night scenes... I just got a new camera which should take better night pics , I am learning how to get the best out of it! (fyi only: I got this camera , here is a review, I went into the store just to have another look but I was lucky I could get some counseling! and left the store with a new camera, which I started using yesterday. These pictures were all taken with my old HP. More pictures to come!)
Those are great photos. I have a friend who visited Hamburg and she told me of how beautiful and romantic that place is.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharign.
Wonderful pictures Mar...Even thr night picture is terrific....I find night pictures very hard to take....All these lovely places...Hamburg looks incrediblt beautiful.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful place!
ReplyDeletecongratulations on the new camera! :)
happy start of the week!
wonderful shots! such a great place!
ReplyDeletea new toy! *grins*
congratulations!
My WS post
nice shots you have here... ;)
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful shots Mar. I like cloudy days and I thought the night shot was lovely. I think the very slight blurry quality in the night shot adds to the mystery. If you hadn't mentioned the quality, I would have thought that it was on purpose. Congratulations on your new camera. I know you will enjoy it very much. I'm excited for you.
ReplyDeleteI think your photos look wonderful. Looks like you had a nice trip.
ReplyDeleteWow your camera looks like a fun one. I like that it is so small.
I have a Kodak Easyshare Z612. I love it because it is so user friendly with it's pull up menu.
I think they all take a while to get used to for sure. I am still learning after almost a year.lol
Hugs,
Connie
Lovely photos, Mar. You make me want to go there.
ReplyDeleteThese are delightful. How nice it would be to visit those places sometime. Great WS.
ReplyDeleteOh, I would love to take a long walk on these beautiful places to be able to take in the scene. So wonderful and serene.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing these lovely views. Have a great week! :)
sounds like a nice trip
ReplyDeleteIt must be the season for new cameras!!! What did you get?
ReplyDeleteI would so dearly love to go to Europe!! *sigh*
ReplyDeleteI envy those that can say "I live in Europe...."
Anywhere over there. :o)
Love the pictures! Even the night shot. Very nice. Just wish I could go there. :(
ReplyDeleteMaybe one of these days.
Oh BOY! A NEW camera! What fun! Can't wait to see what it does with NIGHT time... I have 3 cameras and NONE of them do well at night! If yours DOES, I'm gettin' one!!! LOL!
ReplyDelete(honestly... ALL of mine would do nicely if I would take the time to use my tripod!)
I really need to spend some time in Germany.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are lovely, I'm sure you had a great weekend :) Happy Tuesday
ReplyDeleteNice pictures ! I've never been too attracted by Germany for some reason (French brainwashing maybe :$ ) but it looks really nice. I love the 2nd pic !
ReplyDeleteHamburg looks lovely. I'm even more convinced I should visit now! Is it a good place to visit in the winter?
ReplyDeleteAh, I see that the weather was about the same as we have over here.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos anyway, it's very difficult to get good ones with that weather, everything looks better when the sky is blue and the sun is shining :-)
Ah, yes. Night photos. Very difficult. I haven't manage that yet either. Even though I do have a tripod, but I haven't used it - yet!
Great captures - all of them ; and in Hamburg - only an hour away from Oslo.
ReplyDeleteit's so neat to see these pictures since my family is from there!
