It was full moon on saturday. Announced rising time: 10pm. So off we went to the beach to watch the moon rise with our survival kit, which includes two beach chairs (no legs!) and a cooler... Whenever the clouds allow it , watching a full moon rising over the water is a magnificent and fascinating show offered by Mother Nature. My little camera doesn't take good night pictures so please excuse just ignore the poor quality of the following pics, simply believe me the moon was perfectly round, had a wonderful, deep pink color (due to impurities in the atmosphere as Mr Mar likes to point out while he shakes his head) and I could truly see eyes, nose and mouth in this circle.
Just for fun: the moon has a feminine article in Spanish (la luna) , it's a "he" in German, though...(der Mond).

Oh, that must be a wonderful thing to do to sit on the beach with a picnic and watch the moon rise! Sounds like a perfect evening to me :)
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like a BEAUTIFUL BIG Full Moon....And I love Mr. Mar's comment...Sad but true, isn't it? I know the beautiful sunsets here are often Beautiful because of the Smog and junk in the air...!

How romantic ! In Egypt the half moon lay down and didn't stand as we are used to see and a little english boy said, "Mum, look the moon is sleeping" !

ReplyDeleteThe moon was indeed gorgeous, and oh-so-romantic this weekend. How lovely it must have been to sit on the beach and share the moon. I was out with a friend on Saturday evening, but I did ask Mr. Man-Who-Makes-Me-Swoon if he had seen it - several moments later a picture appeared in my inbox with a subject line that read "Is this what you seen?"

Strange thing is, when I watch a moonrise without my glasses it looks EXACTLY like your second picture.
