If you don't know I am home alone this week, you haven't been here often enough *insert the smiley with the sunglasses on*. More than two days and I am still loving it! I have been busy visiting, scanning old pictures, talking to friends, watching dvd's, being lazy because it has been too hot, cleaning out my closet, swimming, watering my plants, listening to pleasant melodies, and...shopping (add eating and sleeping and we already have 13 things!). Here's what I got yesterday, during my last visit to IKEA, the successful Swedish furniture retailer. There are two stores in Barcelona, one of them is only 20 km/13 miles away, which is very dangerous...
Clockwise, starting at 12 with the black boxes...
1. storage boxes - "Kassett" , aiming to organize my old pics.
2. mini storage net "Minifangst" - still have to decide a purpose for this item...
3. blue candles: "Hushall". I wasn't looking for blue ones but the package of 20 was only .99 euros/1.26 USD
4. "Fixa" locks. See nr. 3... the price applies to each lock. For purpose: see nr. 2.
5. small lamp for my desk - "Vira"
6. batteries
7. ceramic plate ("Hallon") for the giant tea lights
8-13: 6 placemats "Duga", where 5-7 are placed !
*** PS: don't you love the names?

I think today was shopping day for us all. I was out and about and I got a ton of stuff. Too much, but what can you do? I only get to the "big city" every few weeks.

I live in New York City and we don't have IKEA. I went to my first last year and I was mazed by the size of the place. And they serve Sweish Meatballs too LOL it was fun.

I was with my Swedish friend today and co-incidentally we mentioned IKEA. The names of the products are often not real words in Swedish, but kind of whimsical words (like a small shelf might be called 'shelf-let', if you know what I mean.
