sale ~ cutlery

                                                    cutlery  sale

Examples of cutlery found in a garage sale, maybe. This belongs to the La Jardin project , a  Santiago de Chile part of  British artist Tony Hornecker's The Pale Blue (pop-up!) Restaurant  initiative. Decorated with recycled materials only, meaning mismatched, salvaged furniture and quirky junk! (reposted for my own convenience...) I visited this project in early 2013, it was a real feast for the eyes, I simply loved it because there was so much to look at. The food was also very good. It has been such a success, that the project found a place to stay much longer than the 6 months initially planned.

Yellow man walking

MellowYellowBadge

Unfortunately in the shadow, I saw this sculpture in Santiago, Chile. Not sure what it represents, but it is surely an eye-catcher. Life-size and dangerously stepping on what it seems to be stalagmites.

curiosity

Curiosity did not kill this cat, but it made him tired. The other curiosity: one of the cats is a fake one...

memories

... from my January trip to Chile. Not the best shot, but it is colorful, happy and warm...the way I want to remember it! Taken at a handicrafts market.

all my bags are packed

Tonight I am flying to Santiago, Chile for three weeks, expecting to enjoy summertime and all of the above: 1) view of the Manquehue hill from my sister's flat. 2) pisco sour, is it cocktail hour yet?? 3) empanadas! simply delicious with pino filling, consisting traditionally of beef, onions, raisins, black olives, and hard boiled eggs. 4) mighty bougainvilleas. 5) the view of Santiago with the majestic Andes in the background, and last, but not least: 6) my parents' street, where I grew up. I left 24 years ago as a newly wed, so I have actually spent half of my life abroad but it still represents my roots.

I will be spending precious time with family and friends, which means a substantial reduction of my blogging time. I will most likely be posting pictures and while commenting and visiting is not on my agenda for obvious reasons, I will drop by whenever jet lag hits me and I am wide awake in the middle of the night I can. Hope to see you around!
