This 12 meters/39 ft high wood sculpture by the Swiss artist Daniel Berset represents a giant chair with a broken leg and stands on the Place des Nations, in Geneva. It symbolizes opposition to land mines and cluster bombs, and acts as a reminder to politicians and others visiting Geneva. I have posted other pictures of this broken chair here already, bear with me, it's all because of the message.
That's a very moving sculpture about an important issue.

I love that - and it really does get the message across well.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen it before, but I love it. And the message needs to be told over and over again. Perfect for the theme!
ReplyDeleteA thought-provoking art work. Who says modern art can't impact one's heart and soul? Not me! :)
ReplyDeleteI have never seen that chair, quiet original creation !
ReplyDeleteI love this idea. A great way to get the message across without being too in your face (though sometimes that is needed!)
ReplyDeleteThat is an excellent photo, and, as you say, a very important subject.
