ruby red custome

Still on Day 3 of our 10-day Germany trip earlier this month. It was Sunday and there was a huge wine festival in Bernkastel*Kues. We were there to watch the festive parade going through the market square, which is completely surrounded by these lovely half-timbered houses, dating back partly to the 17th century.

The float from a place called Kardinalsberg  (cardinal's hill) showed much ruby red,  it wasn't easy to photograph as I am petite and the crowd was large!!

  7. I LOVE that shot! It is quaint ... and it is FUN... and it wreaks Germany! Even though it's in the "town" I can't help but think Hansel & Gretal!

  8. What a great scene. You did a good job of capturing it from your place in the crowd, too! The buildings would be enough, but that shot of the cardinal float just tops the cake!

  11. Excellent RT. Looks so fun to go to my friend. I must say, I thought your red was going to be the houses behind the people. I think those show it very well as does the float. Great photo :)

  15. A lovely take on the ruby theme, Mar - love it! Am really enjoying the virtual trip, thanks to your keen eye and ready camera. I adore river journeys (I used to live by a beautiful river, running between England and Wales). Bis spater, Mar!
