Yes, she did...My entry for Idioms Wednesday:
She shot herself in the foot : she made a bad mistake for herself.
She shot herself in the foot : she made a bad mistake for herself.
And also for: Outdoor Wednesday ···Watery Wednesday
This is my left foot, a partially torn ligament (while outdoors walking down some stone mountain steps) called for this charming ankle bracelet which I am supposed to wear until the end of the month. It's removable so that I can go into the water...but I should not swim! as long as I am nursing my ankle. So I literally sit in the pool on my garden plastic chair. It truly looks worse than what really is, I am able to walk without pain, I can drive, I just have to take it easy and it's not a good time to go hiking.
Update: thanks for all the get-well wishes!!

Oops Mar! I'm glad it does not hurt though!
ReplyDeleteBut I must say, you made a great picture, or shoul I call it a "still life"? **Grin**
Thanks for playing Mar!
OMGosh...how terrible. But it does make for a great idiom. Excellent Hope it gets well real soon :)
ReplyDeleteNice one!
ReplyDeleteLove the pic, sad that you hurt yourself. It doesn't sound like it stops you though. Way to go. Get well soon.
ReplyDeleteMaryrose
You poor dear....Back in 1984 when the Olympics were here in Los Angeles, I broke by foot!!! It was a very very HOT summer, and I had a BIG Cast on my leg, so I was NOT able to swim or even get into the water! It's great that you can at least sit in the coolness of the pool....! It does look like it was not a good thing, that's for sure, but I'm glad you can drive and soak in the water, too....!
ReplyDeleteO my goodness! You poor thing! I guess you can at least sit in the pool on hot days!
ReplyDeleteI hope your ankle recovers very soon. But it is a wonderful shot and a great entry! Have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh deeeear! Summer is such a bad time to do this to one's self. Oh... but for you, maybe better to miss the swimming than the skiing! Well... sounds like you have PLENTY of time for coffee! :)
ReplyDeleteOuch! Feel better soon. The race is on.. You or me for faster recovery. I have 90 days to rehab, lets see how my painful recovery works with yours... get better!
ReplyDeleteUh Oh! Shame shame!
ReplyDeleteThat pool sure looks nice to jump into right about now though!
Sorry bout your ankle
I don't know. I think you could be a trendsetter if we show the photo to enough young people. I truly hope you're not too uncomfortable. Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteUh oh!! I'm glad it's not painful to you at this point -- and it did come in handy for the idiom. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Mar,
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your misfortune and so glad it isn't real painful. Great shot for the idiom and for Watery Wednesday! That water sure looks refreshing.
Love the dolphin!
I'm glad it isn't painful but what a nuisance to have to deal with. I hope you'll be completely healed soon.
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better now!
ReplyDeleteI am glad it is not tooooo bad...
ReplyDeleteI am also surprised swimming is not allowed?
Enjoy the rest...:-)
Thought you were going in ;-)
ReplyDeleteOuch! That sounds very painful so I hope it heals soon!
ReplyDeleteSorry I haven't been by much - life has been getting in the way. Love the dolphin on the pool :)
Well, you've turned your injury to the power of good! You use it in photos to entertain us, and it keeps you home playing Punny Monday!
ReplyDeleteDo get well soon! That's so painful.
ReplyDeleteOh! How sad Mar!!! Luckely you can stay sitting in the swimmingpool! And luckely you should have more time to blog...
ReplyDeleteGood illustration for the idiom
ReplyDeleteGlad you didn't really shoot yourself in the foot.
