It's time for Jientje's A Thousand words in Idioms. "The idea is to pick an idiom, or a saying, (even slang is allowed) and illustrate it with a picture. Each week we'll cover two letters of the alphabet". Here are my choices, pulled -again- -from the archives.
Every cloud has a silver lining
People sometimes say that every cloud has a silver lining to comfort somebody who's having problems. They mean that it is always possible to get something positive out of a situation, no matter how unpleasant, difficult or even painful it might seem.
Fit like a glove
If something fits like a glove, it is suitable or the right size.
I realize I have only worn my lace gloves for the blog and never in public. I bought them a while ago although my lifestyle does not require this kind of accessoire, but I love them! Any dead bodies in your wardrobe, too?
Peace and love in gloves, huh ? Of course the fishes are from me ! They are in a bassin in a neighbor's pond ! Is the picture so good ?? hahaha !
ReplyDeleteI love your idiom choices and that lace glove is sexy! The only dead bodies in my wardrobe are my high heels -- I love them, but since I injured my knee I just can't wear them.
ReplyDeleteThe cloud photo is lovely and it fits the idiom very well. That's an interesting meme!
ReplyDeleteI love the gloves and it so fits the idiom. Great work and the pic of the clouds is fantastic :) Great work on the idioms. Aloha
ReplyDeleteBeautiful idioms and photos! Thank you for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of these lingering around in my closet too somewhere, and like you, I love them, but have hardly ever worn them!!!
ReplyDeleteBut they look great, and your idioms as well as your pictures are great!! Thanks for playing!!
Great pics for the themes and well chosen idioms! I really love the lace glove photo. It's fun and a little cheeky in a way :)
ReplyDeletePERFECT pictures for your choices! And excellent choices too! I LOVE that lace glove - and I would never wear them either... NO occasion to! I don't actually have any dead bodies in my closet... more the opposite - I need to freshen it up some! Put some of the dying to rest! LOL!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! I have a pair of fishnet gloves that I ended up giving to DD for play clothes cuz I don't have a reason to wear them anymore. I bought them for a history days celebration in Wyoming one year.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. My DH has been deployed to Iraq for 6 months, so prayers for safety are appreciated.
oh, that cloud looks like a friendly fat sheep.
ReplyDeleteand the lace glove is absolutely classy.
great stuff!
Very clever on both of these, Mar....I can see why you love those gloves, but I can also see why you might not ever wear them, too...lol!
ReplyDeleteLove both pictures, but especially that Cloud....the shape is so amazing!
Fabulous!!! Love the photos, specially taken to match the idioms. Great job.
