  1. Very nice and original ! Secret photos are the best ! Adrealine is raising and you look carefully around if there is not a guard, hehehe !
BTW if you have time the whole Brussels Parade is on my WriterCramps blog.
It was fun and as the weather was nice the city was full. For the first time this year we could sit outside on a terrace !

  3. Wow, I would like to know how to make my own straw hat. It could be very useful on hot days like this. How did you smuggle in your camera ;p?

  4. I have a Scala!

We were on the reefs in Kona and my nose and ears were getting fried. We went back to the hotel, walked into the shop expecting to find I'd have to pay a fortune for a hat. The only hat in the store that I liked was on the mannequin in the window. I was looking at $60.00 price tags on hats I didn't care for. OC said if I was going to pay that much for a hat, I ought to at least get the one I wanted, so I asked the girl to fetch the hat from the window -- and it turned out to be 50% off and only $30.00!

  5. If you get caught, they would make you erase the pictures and smack you with a fine. Am I correct?

You won't know. You came back with the picture. haha...

  6. Excellent photo with all the contrasts, shadows and textures. LOL.....I've done that many-a-time [sneaking a photo now and then when the 'rules' simply state "no photography"]

We lost our power yesterday due to construction in the neighborhood so this is the first chance I have to visit with you. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comment. It's always nice to have you come over and keep me company.

  11. Very cool display. It is so hard to know when you can and can't talk pictures. I know it seems silly to them, but placing signs on each display would make it more clear...right?

One of these days I want to weave a basket. Just to say I did it, ya know?

  12. This is really cool. I never really thought about how they make these, but I actually just went on a wild hunt for one of these hats for the Tashan (hat) in our Purim play.

  13. Cool shot!
You aren't the first to take a shot where maybe you shouldn't. :)

My RT is here: Carletta’s Captures.

  15. Oops. No photos allowed. I got stopped in a shop once - but I'd already taken a couple dozen photos by then. That's a wonderful shot! I love the atmosphere of it, bright yet a bit secretive.

  17. That's very cool. I watched a woman make a straw hat once. She had the straw in water, I guess to make it bendable. She was so fast!

  23. This is a fascinating handicraft.
I hope it will sustain for ever, due to the quality and love that's lie behind.
I have not seen it done in Chile, but in Mexico ("Panama style hats)

    excellent post
