One charming side effect of the mild Mediterranean weather is the fact that terraces are open to the public all year round. This shot was taken one December morning in Barcelona a few days ago at the centric and classy Paseo de Gracia, surrounded by chic boutiques and fashionable restaurants. I'd dare to say the ones sitting outside enjoying the timid sunshine are tourists, the locals are most likely sitting indoors enjoying their café con leche, since the temperature was around 12ºC/53ºF.
It isn't crowded as it was a bit after 10 am, the shops had just opened. Somebody knew I needed a combined shot for both My World Tuesday and Ruby Tuesday, that explains the cushions!!

We aren't tourists here in Hawaii, but we haven't completely acclimated, either. The other night we chose to sit on the terrace of one of our favorite local eateries, and the waitress was shocked. She told us, "It's too cold to be outside!" It was around 20C then, too, and it rarely gets colder than that here.
ReplyDeletePretty picture. Those red cushions look comfy.
Looks like the weather is great, wish we could say the same here..lol. Thanks for sharing your world.
ReplyDeleteCheers!

What a beautiful place, Mar. So friendly and warm.
ReplyDeleteThe weather's too chilly for me who's from the Equator. hehe....
ReplyDeleteThis is a good place to watch people passing by.
Thanks for sharing this nice terrace with us (here in Belgium 4°C brrrr...)
ReplyDeleteIt is a long time since I was there , but it was nice to see the pace again. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what is wrong but I can't see your picture?
ReplyDeleteCharming is right. This looks like the perfect spot to take a break. I would be one of those tourists if I could be. Give me timid sunshine to dreary rain anyday.
ReplyDeleteJust where I'd like to be!
ReplyDeleteLooks so inviting......and WARM! Wish I was there....its below zero here! Thanks for showing your world!
ReplyDeleteAs I sit cold, covered in snow, this looks pretty appealing!
ReplyDeleteYou're really GOOD at finding shots that fit multiple memes! This is lovely. AS a tourist - I would surely have been sitting OUTside -- 53 is perfectly respectable outdoor weather!
ReplyDeleteA charming scene and a wonderful look into your world with its touches of red! Great choice for both memes.
ReplyDeleteI remember when we lived in Florida and how we would go to the beach in the fall and watch the tourist playing in the ocean. Ocean water is cold enough, but for them to be in there in the fall was crazy! I was wearing a coat.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture though...were the outside heaters on for the tourist? ;)
10 am at the terrace in the middle of winter. Some people have all the luck.
ReplyDeleteNice picture ! so if I understand well your world means siting around the whole day on a terrace and drinking red wine (for ruby tuesday) !
ReplyDeletewinter hasn't even started and I miss spring!!
ReplyDeleteI love to sit at a cafe and people watch
great shot
Beautiful view and World.
ReplyDeletewow Mar, that's like a dream here as it's just way too cold to sit outdoors at all. I thought the photo was definitely taken during a different month.
