And now a few words, just pretend I am not saying anything...This was a fabulous view while flying to the Canary Islands. It is Sagres, the most southerly community in Portugal and the most south-westerly in continental Europe , overlooking the Bay of Sagres , see the X on the map. We have visited this place before but with a rental car and it was fascinating to see it from the airplane. The view was perfect, the weather was sunny and clear, and we were seating on the right side of the plane to enjoy this panorama!! I am posting the pic, regardless of the poor quality, because chances are I won't get a second chance for a better picture and I truly want to remember this...
I'm glad you posted it, as well as your thoughts surrounding it. I always love reading your perspectives on your world - it's a picture I'd otherwise never get to experience.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you via WW today! I've posted my contribution here and hope you drop by for a look around:

All the best...
Carmi
ohh neat! nice to know few things about you..;) Mine is up too
ReplyDeleteIt's those window cleaners who should apologise ... I'm sure if they'd asked the pilot would have slowed down for them! Nice photo Mar ;o)
ReplyDeleteWow ! I first thought it snowed but then I read and looked closer. Wonderful sight ! that doesn't happen very often.
ReplyDeleteBTW I had no problem with my son and (Nikolaus)Santa, he absolutely wanted to climb on his lap (he was 2 1/2) and pulled off his beard ! That's my souvenir of a "crying" child, lol !
I don't know what happened with my Blogger draft but it switched over to the old one and I can't fix it !
What a neat shot!
ReplyDeleteMy Wordless Wednesday post is up too! :)
Its still a nice shot! Happy WW
ReplyDeleteI also took some pics from the plane on my way to and from Jogja, the quality is not so good and am so sad...
ReplyDeleteWish I could share the beauty I saw then...
btw thanks for visiting...
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's a poor shot. Look at it this way: it's artistic!! No?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, thanks for visiting. Have a fun day!
I thought it was snowing!
ReplyDeleteMy WW is here: http://theparentingdiaries.com
That makes it a perfect Wordless Wednesday! Blessings! :)
ReplyDeleteHey, those map makers did a good job!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was snowing! Still, it turned out to be good :)
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of shots like that. They may not have turned out how I hoped, but they still hold precious memories - and that's what counts about this pic. It's a snapshot of a particular moment in time, and will always invoke that moment for you - thanks for sharing. Happy WW!
ReplyDeleteMy WW pics can be seen at Siani's Pot-Pourri.
Cool shot, it took me a moment to see what it was!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful shot to remember your visit by. Very cool...
ReplyDeleteSo then that is NOT snow accumulating on the window? Is it DUST? What IS it? I do see the island down below -- but I thought it was COOL that snow was accumulating and the flurries were flying! But... I didn't HEAR you say a thing... so ... maybe further explanation is needed!
ReplyDeleteSometimes picture quality isn't all there is to a photo and this is one of those times. I think it is an incredible picture and have to agree with Carmi!
ReplyDeleteIt's great to share a bit of your trip so thanks for posting it.
Also, apologies for not stopping by much lately but I have hardly any time to blog!
Same with Gattina, at first I thought it snowed. Happy WW!
ReplyDeleteVery cool picture! I've never tried to take pictures out the window like that before...what a great shot.
ReplyDeleteI think it is a fascinating picture Mar...and, in fact, quite "artful"....! I love you showing us where that is on the map....I oersonally find that very very helpful---to really 'get' the placement of exactly where you were....!
ReplyDeleteO M Goodness! What a view out the window, huh? I bet it was just so thrilling!!! Wow.
ReplyDeleteah, home sweet home :) it is a beautiful view from up there indeed - saw it a couple of times on our way to Dakar. but i have never been to Sagres by road... something on my "to do list" :)
ReplyDeleteamazing the weather in upper europe, hey? 10 c in Hamburg for you last week and we are having quite mild temperatures as well...
Interesting shot - thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteIncredible pic! and narrative to go with it!
ReplyDeleteTHanks for visiting me!
What a neat shot. Thanks for sharing more about it.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you posted it Mar, because now I can imagine flying over it!
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice photo, Mar. You can just see where the island and the water meet.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I tagged you to do a Photo Meme of Sunrises and Sunsets. It can be anywhere, not just Spain that I have mentioned in my tag to you. Here is the link:
