This is the Montserrat mountain near Barcelona, Spain, where I live. The name "Montserrat" is one of the most popular female given names in Catalonia, it literally means "jagged mountain" and is used because of the peculiar aspect of the rock formation, which is visible from a great distance. We enjoyed this view (sorry it isn't very good) last Friday (more pics in the prior post) . Mr Mar even stopped so that I could take a picture, little did he (nor I) know this would be my very first entry for the Weekend Snapshot!
yes sopretty
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely view!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful landscape nearly just in front of your door ! You live in a permanent holiday place, lucky you !!
ReplyDeleteThe Che Guevava picture is hanging in this appartment as long as I can remember, lol ! It was because Nino looked exactly like him on this picture when he was young(er) !
Yes your Bat story would have been the HIT of the whole Manic Monday !!

ReplyDeletewelcome to WS! :)
happy monday!
Nice view, are those houses below?
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely. The blue of the sky is magic. Thanks also for the name explanation. The names of places always bring the people of the place to life!
ReplyDeleteWe have some near us that look a lot like that...I was calling them "razorback" but I found out that the locals named them "Hog back" go figure. LOL!
ReplyDeleteLovely photo! I have never been there! Maybe one day!!
ReplyDeleteInteresting that people would give a girl a name that means jagged mountain, though I suppose the actual meaning has long since been lost. A bit like some place names in English which mean hill of the hill if you look into name derivations.
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful shots. I'd love to see that view in person. Glad you are participating in WS. I enjoy it a lot. I hope that you have a pleasant week.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a beautiful place.
