  1. WOW! Awesome shot!! Unfortunately ours gave up working a long time ago, and we can't listen to our ca. 100 vinyls. :(

  9. I wish I had kept all my records from when I was growing up. And a record player. Technology sure changed all that. Great photo and hae a good weekend.

  14. If I'm right, we call this a turn table. Ours is gone so many many years ago.

  16. What a NEAT shot! We do still HAVE a turntable -- but it's tucked away down in the basement... under a pile of boxes, a couple of sleds, a crib mattress and who knows what else! LOL! I don't think I'll be listening to any old vinyls for awhile! COOL that you do!

  17. The old vinyl player. So many wonderful hours listening to the music played on it. And how easy was it to remove from our lives when the CD stacker became the norm. Now it seems a bit unfair on something that brought us so much pleasure.

  18. What a great shot! Nice entry this week:)

  19. Cool perspective on your shot Mar! I haven't listened to a vinyl record in ages, I wonder if my old ones would still work. Something to do this weekend. Thanks Mar! Happy Hunting :)

  20. and there I sold all my LPs back when CDs came out! I got a lot of cash but now I really regret it. I actually saw a turntable being sold at Radio Shack last month, so there is still equipment available.

  21. We have a record player, too. Some of those recordings haven't been remade into tapes or CDs, so I imagine we'll always have one as long as they keep making them. Great shot!

  33. That's pretty cool! My Dad's got an old record player, but I'm pretty sure that he doesn't know where to get the needles anymore, so mostly it just gathers dust in the garage. Good that yours still works!

  41. That's a lovely shot. I remember how my Dad would put on an ABBA LP because my Mom loves their songs. It filled our home with soothing music especially during weekends. Thanks for bringing back happy memories.

  42. Today is Cruise stop in South London/Croydon. Lovely place ! I honestly prefer it to Central London once you have seen all the touristic stuff and museums.

  43. Record players are back in thwe store as a nostalgia item.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Wow! I haven't seen one of those in ages! What an absolutely cool needle, er, holder thingie. *grin*

Seriously, I can almost hear the scratching sound.

Hope your weekend is going well, mar!

Michele sent me (but I would have come anyway. *grin*)

  46. I was in Hyde Park a cuple of weeks ago when 'Cant find my way home' came onto my iPod by complete random choice (thanks to shuffle). I smiled when I heard it, because the only time Blind Faith played live was also at Hyde Park.

I recently acquired a USB record player to convert some old vinyl to .MP3. The dilemma is that as Vinyl it stays unplayed; as mp3 at least it will get heard!
