day 11 - photo hunt: growth

This is a small gardenia which is doing very well outdoors. One fine day while watering the plants I noticed a small branch had found an impediment for further growth: an older leaf. It worked its way through it and now you see it growing through this small hole! isn't this something? I am very fond of this shot and very proud of the little branch :)

  33. I wish I had a gardenia, I've got some orchids but they keep getting mysteriously and inexplicably "pruned." That's the hazards of having kids I suppose but I really wish they'd leave my orchids alone.
