This is what a tiny voice inside my head said to me as I was staring at the poinsettias at the store last saturday. It was still september, remember? But they were so pretty and there were not many of them , I thought there won't be any left if I decide I want one and come back on monday... so I just did it : I got one! it's mine! I think it is a pretty plant and deserves a life not only around december. I just wonder whether it will look this pretty over Xmas too...
That is a beautiful plant. The colors are so rich! I think it's great that you got it and are able to appreciate it that much longer!
ReplyDeleteHere via Wendy's Casting Call!
what a beautiful poinsettia! that is about the only plant that might survive in our house. Others just wither and die under my supervision.
ReplyDeleteMight look out for one as well to have through the winter!
Love it, hug it, and call it George :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm just afire with excellent quotes today....... :-)
Wendy directed me here in my lunchbreak.....

How pretty is that?!
ReplyDeletebeautiful! I can't have poinsettas in the house - they make kitty sick. :( But I bought some gerbia daisys this weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty one, Mar...You know this is a Euphorrbia...I just love that THAT family of plants is so big that it encompasses your Pointsetta and about 35 species in my garden...It's the Milky White Substance that you see when you break off a leaf that makes it part of the Euphirbia Family!
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with you, why not have one or two, in September, too!
That is a beautiful plant, it does seem such a waste to just see them at Christmas
ReplyDeleteI am back again Wendy sent me
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, lovely poinsettia!
ReplyDeleteGood luck, and have a great time!
That is so pretty, I don't buy plants, I always end up killing them.
ReplyDeleteHere from Wendy's!
The pointsettia is beautiful, enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteHi from Michele's.
I usually buy poinsettias in Nov. or Dec. and so far, have been able to keep them alive and thriving through the next summer. They get tall and lush and very green for me. For 2 years, I had a plant that started turning red again in Nov., even though I didn't do anything to make it bloom again. I hope you have good luck with yours, Mar.
ReplyDeleteNo pumpkin first?
ReplyDeleteI had the same idea but with another plant only used around 1. November, the Chrisantheme (I don't know the word in english)it's to be put on graves that day to honor the dead. But I found this plant so beautiful, that I bought a big one for myself and put it in the living room.
ReplyDeleteThey are so beautiful, I'd love to see them in the wild :o) My grandmother could keep them going for ages ... mine always die about 2 minutes after Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty! I don't know what kind of weather you have there but when I lived in Florida we could get them to grow all year long.
ReplyDeleteI hope yours stays pretty a good long time...check with your local nursery for tips. or online too.
Oh, it looks beautiful! I have no idea how long it is supposed to last - I can't imagine what my little guy would do to that poor plant..... anyway, keep posting photos of it and I'll live vicariously thru your plant ;).
ReplyDeleteThe plant looks great and I hope it last until xmas!!
ReplyDeletere: comment on vacation... The boat was a lot of fun. There was a guy up on the deck and as is the custome when boarding a boat I asked for permission to board...and he of course granted it. DD got to move the thing that moves the tiller.
ReplyDeleteAnd while she did not loose any teeth on vacation (she was worried the toothfairy wouldn't know where to come) she has lost one since we've returned. I need to get after her about the other 3 though.
Oh so pretty! I miss all my plants that I left back in Hawaii. :( Especially my orchids, and my cardinal plant.
ReplyDeleteMar! Your site grew! It got .... uh-oh... FAT! LOL! It gives you a lot more space for ... whatever! Today poinsettias... who knows tomorrow! COOL! The plant is gorgeous! I don't know if it will still be that pretty come December. BUT... if it's not, surely they will be more plentiful then!
