I don't take pictures of food very often because I think it is hard to find the right angle so something delicious doesn't look disgusting... but I found one for today's theme: this is a particular food favorite of mine (I don't have a sweet tooth!) pictured at a small restaurant while we were traveling in july: quiche and salad, with a tasty mustard salad sauce, French style (1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp vegetable oil, 1 tbsp vinager, 1 tsp mustard, salt and pepper) Next to the fork on the plate: green tapenade, a rich olive spread popular in the Mediterranean, made out of green olives. Here is a recipe using black olives:

20 pitted Kalamata olives, coarsely chopped
1 Tbsp rinsed, drained, and chopped capers
1 tsp fresh lemon juice ,2 tsp olive oil
1/2 tsp anchovy paste (optional)
Fresh cracked black pepper

Combine Kalamata olives, capers, lemon juice, olive oil, anchovy paste, and pepper.
Mix well. Refrigerate and use within two weeks.
