Talk about anticipation: looking forward to these wild strawberries, they taste wonderful and we picked them last year during our walks in the French Alps (which is otherwise our skiing paradise), same place we are visiting in a few more days!
See below: the view, the forest, one of the villages' summer party! memories from 2006 (click to enlarge)

and thanks to you for dropping by!
The forest looks absolutely gorgeous... :-)
ReplyDeleteBut then, you know I'd stay away from mountains, snow etc.....

Have a wonderful holiday, sweetie, you and Mr Mar :-)

My husband and I ate the best raspberries in a little Swiss town called Gandria. I'm convinced Europe has the best berries in the world.
ReplyDeleteWonderful simplicity in this photo of "getting away from it all"!!
ReplyDeleteWe flew over those gorgeous Alps last year - I'd sure love to be going back!
ReplyDeleteWell, Site of the day hey... Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteThose wild strawberries look wonderful, the only wild ones I have ever come across have been tart and terrible!

Looks beautiful and reminds me of Italy ! The South of France and the italian continuation are looking very similar ! That's why my son always goes to the Italian side because people are more friendly he said ! I just came back from my morning swimming and am full of energy ! For a change : It rains !

Hello, Michele sent me, and wow was she ever right -- those are simply stunning photos: and those little red jewels you are holding look like they tasted out of this world. There is something about tiny berries: the concentrated flavour, the immensity of their tiny texture exploding in the mouth.... mmmm...
ReplyDeleteN.
I thought that first picture was of pomegranite seeds! Wow, those strawberries are TINY, but I bet they're delicious :-)

*off to find strawberries*
Hello! Michele sent me. Those wild strawberries look great!
ReplyDeleteOh those lovely wild strawberries! I grew up on those. I thought that the "big ones" were only something my AUNT grew - didn't know those were the norm. I spent many a summer evening picking wild strawberries. My relatives could pick GALLONS of those. We made strawberry "dust" (similar to mousse, but made with egg whites), sugared berries for toast, then put the rest up, either frozen or in jams and jellies. And of course, there were the many consumed while picking...and traveling back home.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the wonderful photos, memories and words!
Michele sent me!
