Street and sport

                                                          street    sport

A street in Briançon from my archives, a few days before the Tour de France passed through. Note the reference to the green, polka dot, and yellow jerseys! (colors are explained here) The tour will begin this year on July 5th in Leeds, I will be for sure watching the stages as I love the aerial views, it's sightseeing from my comfortable sofa.  I must insert here that I don't enjoy riding a bike myself. I have watched the tour live on the street in several ocassions while on summer holidays in France: it was fun and exciting but... the bike riders went by way too fast!

Q is for queso

Q is for queso (KEH-so), the Spanish word for cheese. Ironically, this was taken at a French farmers' market...

M is for ...mighty mountain

This is the "Aiguille Noire" (Black Needle, South Alps, France) from my February ski vacation. Beautiful weather, fantastic slopes. And a mighty mountain right before my very eyes.

phot hunt: light

Light bulbs found in a department store in Paris. More pictures of this beautiful place can be found here.  I kept looking up at the wonderful dome and decorations, all other goodies were not as appealing!   The store's unique Belle Epoque architecture, which features a dramatic colored glass dome and an ornate Art Nouveau staircase offering dizzying perspectives, contributed to the department store being named a Paris city heritage site. For PhotoHunt.  Below, the unique dome.
