the saturday hunts

for Saturday's Photohunting
During our recent vacation I did no cooking whatsoever and everybody should be happy and thankful for that!  Mr. Mar couldn't get enough of this specialty in Munich: Weisswurst, a very favorite of him,  served in a bowl to keep them warm, sweet mustard, fresh Bretzel, and beer (what else?), always before noon...well, traditionally served only until noon but nowadays a tourist can find them all day long. There is a saying that the sausages should not be allowed to hear the church bells' noon chime. Traditionally, Weisswurst may only be served until midday because preservatives are not used, the meat is not smoked, and hence the sausage is made fresh every day. More here

We visited (not only!) the Hofbräuhaus for this morning event, a fascinating place even for the ones who do not drink beer, like me.

And since I wasn't able to combine both themes in one picture, I am  reposting adding ripples from my archives below, and a favorite picture of mine for The Saturday PhotoHunt .

  2. The sausages are too tempting for me. I would like to try a sausage that has no preservatives and taste the difference.
    Happy weekend!
