Thursday Thirteen



Thirteen random things

01. I always have a hard time trying to adjust to daylight savings...specially in spring.
02. This time hasn't been an exception.
03. It feels like jet lag... missing beauty sleep!
04. If you live in the US, I will probably be gone by the time you read this.
unless you are a night owl!
05. But only for a couple of days until sunday!
06. Destination: Gran Canaria (founded 1478), Canary Islands-
It's a 3 1/2-hour flight.
07. It is only a short vacation, expecting nice weather, with temperatures
between 60-75ºF /15-23ºC, my kind of weather.
08. It was a quick decision. We have only been to the south of
the island before (Maspalomas with its wonderful
sand dunes). We are going to the north this time.
09. I love short trips since I only have to pack my small carry-on.
But the happiest one is the Teenager (17 3/4) who gets the house
to himself during those days...
10. I will not be able to visit you fellow Thirteeners as I normally do.
11. But please leave your link and comments, I will try my best
when I get back!(slowly but surely)
12. I shouldn't leave without mentioning that the Canary Islands
are seven (which happens to be my lucky number!).
13. The islands and their capitals are:

Gran Canaria (capital Las Palmas de Gran Canaria)
Tenerife (capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife)
Lanzarote (capital Arrecife)
La Palma (capital Santa Cruz de La Palma)
La Gomera (capital San Sebastián de La Gomera)
El Hierro (capital Valverde)
Fuerteventura (capital Puerto del Rosario)

    I totally love daylight savings. Having more daylight in the evenings is a small blessing for us. More time to spend with the hubby and kids before dark, more play time outside, more time to do yard work, more time to go somewhere before dark... The shorter days when the time changes in the fall stink, I think :)
