This week's themes are monuments (Gattina's Saturday's Photohunting)
and can (Sandi's The Saturday PhotoHunt )
An example that an existing monument can be used for another purpose:
There must be a can here somewhere...
Originally a memorial for composer Orlande de Lassus, fans decided to convert it into a Michael Jackson Memorial in Munich in front of the Hotel Bayerischer Hof, where he used to stay when he was on tour. Check out the German site, make sure to scroll down to reach the picture section.
Good shots of the interesting memorial. I'm not sure what I think about the Orlande de Lassus memorial being overtaken but I guess since he died well over 400 years ago his loved ones would be so long gone as to not care. It was moving going to the site and seeing all the memorials for Michael Jackson. I still remember him as a young boy in the Jackson 5 way back when.
ReplyDeleteInteresting what was done there. I guess the Michael Jackson fans made the connection with music and thought that place would be an appropriate location to (temporarily?) turn into a Michael Jackson memorial...
ReplyDeleteOrlande de Lassus would not be pleased with this conversion. :P
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend Mar and friends!
