The plant you ask me to identify is very beautiful and the nearest we have been able to come up with Chorisea Speciosa -Floss Silk or Kapok Tree: Spanish Arbol de los Pajaros.     Thanks so much, Mar, for the link to the Barcelona site giving info on the magnificent Floss Silk Tree.....such a beauty...and very interesting that 4 specimens were planted for the Olympics in Barcelona.
