Ponchos were created by the ancient peoples of the Andes and are now worldwide known! . The short ones pictured here are called mantas. From my Chilean archives.
A few years ago, I crocheted some Ponchos for my Granddaughters and some of the youngsters who lived on my block. They loved them. I like Ponchos also. Great photo of the poncho for P day, today.
Poncho is the perfect P word. I never thought of that. I remember my mother in law knitting me a yellow and brown poncho. It was so nice and warm. I wonder what ever happened to it. Hmmm.
Ponchos is a great idea for the letter P. I like the short one pictured here. When I was a teenager, I had a friends mom who made beautiful ones out of blankets. I wore the one she made for me for ages.
Great shot, very evocative. Years ago I was in Peru, but before digital cameras. If I had had one then, I would have those photos now. Maybe I should go find them and scan some. Thanks for the memory jog.
This is a particularly striking photo of handmade goods. Nicely composed. It's not always easy to get a good snap of wares hanging in storefronts or displayed in tents.
