O is for...

O is for observation and inspired by Melli, who saw my thursday post and commented that she... " would really like a closer look at those white flowers behind too! They look very different!". She observed not only the purple daisy from my garden, but also the  ones growing in the back. While doing some research ::wink:: I learned that  oh, surprise, their scientific name is : Osteospermum fruticosum... another "o"!  They are also called Whirligig Daisies or Spoon Daisies. These grow wild in my garden and bloom twice a year.  The petals are very unique:

  5. How lovely to have Osteospermums growing wild in you garden. I didn't know they were also called Whirligig Daisies or Spoon Daisies - I can quite see how they got that second name - what fun :-)

  10. They ARE very unique! I love them! They remind me of CROWNS for some reason... and crowns, of course, remind me of God... so I really LOVED those flowers immediately and I have NEVER seen them before and I am SO GLAD that you entertained my curiosity! THANK YOU!!! You are such a dear friend! :)

  11. What an ugly name for such a nice flower. Makes me think of osteoporosis !
That's like "Löwenzahn" which is called Piss en lit in french and means "piss in bed" ! Melly has eyes like an eagle !
