Fun Monday @ Gattina
First thing in the morning I need cold OJ. Not fresh, can't digest healthy things. And then I move on to black coffee. And to milk coffee, black tea, and more black coffee during the day, but that's another story. I have several favorite mugs but this one is MY mug, which I brought with me to Spain 17 years ago and it was my office mug in Germany , so it is about 20 years old... In case you didn't know, I am a Libra, which is "Waage" in German. I normally drink my morning coffee indoors but the terrace was a better place for a picture.
Update: the numbers indicate the Libra dates, German style (DD.MM), meaning: 9/24 - 10/23.

Twenty years? Now that's mug loyalty! Glad you interpreted "waage"--was trying to figure out if it had something to do with a profession. What do the numbers signify? BTW, I'm totally impressed that you haven't broken your mug. I broke the handle off mine, but a little gorilla glue fixed it up.
ReplyDeleteAlthough it is an "antique" it still looks very fashionable and nice ! It's quiet interesting to see all different kinds of mugs we all use, lol !
ReplyDeleteI've had mugs that I kept that long... until my very clumsy stepson moved in with us. We went through a lot of mugs and a whole set of dishes. Your's it beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors on that mug. My baby daughter is a Libra too. I drink black coffee in the mornings, as well as throughout the day, interspersed with tea, water and diet coke. The mug I am using now is a Starbucks commemorative of my city, Raleigh.
ReplyDeleteWOW my mugs NEVER last that long. I wish they did.
ReplyDeleteWOW! One mug for alllllllllll those years! You must wash it by hand! I get bored with them and toss them long before that! You are a loyal and faithful mug friend Mar!
ReplyDeleteI think my mugs are probably that old as well. I played. It's below the puppy video.
ReplyDeleteA mug for 20 years! Wow. It's going to be an antique. Love the pretty blue. I wonder how does a Taurus mug look. Do you know is Taurus in German?
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool that your mug has made it for 20 years.
ReplyDeleteI always start with water and then coffee. I have some beautiful pottery mugs that I love but I have to admit that my favorite mug is pretty plain and has a rather rude saying. Before I started being able to work from my home computer I used to take this mug to my office. I may photograph it at some point but then again, as I said it's not a very polite mug. What it says is: "STRESS: The confusion created when one's mind over-rides the body's basic desire to choke the hell out of someone who desperately deserves it."
I wonder how many people would guess what a rude mug is my favorite. Those who know me best aren't surprised at all. One friend even said, that mug is so you. Hmmmmmmm
We have a few old mugs too, but I always seem to get new ones, and use them.
ReplyDeleteI just started doing Fun Monday as well. It's pretty fun. I didn't do last week as I couldn't make it fit. I love that coffee mug. Wow it sure is old. What a keepsake that is. I can't drink coffee...well I can but I don't like the taste. I almost put my favorite thing to drink Mountain Dew in there but then I thought nawwwh...I don't do the Dew in the morning LOL :) Have a great week ahead :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Fun Monday...it is always nice to meet new people. I love the color of your mug and thanks for explaining what Waage meant..very interesting. Seems to be in great condition for being 20 years old. Thanks for Sharing Mar.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool mug. I almost got fired once for messing with my boss's mug that he'd had for 20+ years. I scrubbed all the stains off of it and he flipped.
ReplyDeleteGreat mug, but not my Scorpio symbol. Glad that you have kept it over such a long period.
ReplyDeleteI drink one cup of espresso (a machiato) every morning. I have a cool miniature mug for my espresso that I often use. It has a pretty Hawaiian print on it. I will have to take a photo of it someday. I was given it for Christmas one year with candy inside.
