Wow ! if I could get one here I would buy it too ! looks so elegant and beautiful ! I just finished my Christmas decoration, by hanging up the last angel ! Now I sink in my chair !
So pretty. I nearly bought one in the florist's the other day but with my track record with plants I figured I'd have pity on it and leave it for someone less likely to kill it LOL.
Mine isn't blooming yet! Now I'm bummed. It's gorgeous. I love the lighting in this photo.
Happy Tuesday....my Ruby entry is holiday--a continuation of one I did several weeks ago...it's finished now, and decorating our mantle!! come see HERE
how pretty, I knew what it was the second I saw it, as a child my mother and I always had a Christmas cactus every year. this one looks very delicate you did a great job!
Beautiful Christmas cactus. I had one that bloomed each winter, year after year, but one year I forgot to bring it inside when the temps dropped way below freezing and it bit the dust. The trick, I found, was to have it outside or at least somewhere that it gets chilly temperatures which gives it the bloom signal but bring it inside before a hard freeze. You probably know all that but I learned about it when mine didn't bloom the second year. After that I let it get the cold signal until my forgetfullness blew it.
We have also Xmas cactuses blooming even here in Finland !!! That flower likes cold window and always at Christmas time it blooms again (in my working place in nursinghome there is a big cactus like that) and then is also those who bloom in Easter time. And that flower is in side the rest of a year and it is taken in the midle as it blooms :)
Absolutely STUNNING capture of your beautiful Christmas cactus blossom! I've never had much luck getting them to bloom for me, but your post makes me want to try again ... just because ;-) Hugs and blessings,
I love Christmas cactus. I don't have one right now, but at one time I had one the same colour as yours and one year it had 30 blooms on it. Unfortunately after that is was never the same and eventually died. I like Christmas cactus much better than poinsettas.
