urban bat



This is not a Halloween decoration but a street lamp in Barcelona's main boulevard Passeig de Gracia. The architect was Pere Falqués i Urpí and the 31 lamps integrated with benches are 103 years old. Can you spot the bat below at about 10 o'clock??




Update: although inquiring minds want to know, I cannot find the reason for the bat online...but I will keep trying!

    Ich mag diese alten Laternen sehr gerne. Sie haben so ein besonderes Flair. Bei uns gibt es die schon fast nicht mehr. Alles was alt ist wird einfach ausgetauscht, erneuert. Sehr schade drum...

    Oh Rats ! I have seen this bath ! and I didn't take a pic but I though to take one. That Passeig de Gracia is so beutiful. Those Street Artists do they come in there in every Easter time ???? I took so many pics of them. Do you have pics of those Artists http://nukkekotinukke.blogspot.com/2009/04/two-4-tuesday-happy-sad.html in my blog there are some pics in that 2 4 tuesday challenge and in April = Huhtikuu pics even more !
