A little crocheted plastic thingy , made out of plarn (plastic yarn or yarn made out of plastic bags), a recycling idea I learned through blogging. Quickly done in a few minutes specially for the theme, using a plastic crochet hook (8mm) and placed over my plastic shopping bag. Which means everything on this picture is made out of plastic! And for once I did something with my very ungifted little hands and it even got posted. I am pleased :)
Creative things made out of plarn can be seen here
Now that is very cool, I'd like to make one of those too! Good use for recycled plastic. The photo is great. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
I forgot to say that I love the word "thingy" and use it all the time. :)
ReplyDeletePretty neat. Wow, this is reusing to the max. Love your entry.

Cool catch for Photohunt's theme... Mine's up too... hope you can drop by... Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThis is so clever! I love it! I have so many of those bags, that making other bags out of them for marketing seems the perfect solution! I've bookmarked this so I can come back and investigate further. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI've got mine up now, too, if you have time to visit.
I'm just in awe that you know how to make those cool bags! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous, I wish I had learned crochet from my grandma, but alas, I didnt appreciate it as I should have. It's like NOBODY I know, knows how to crochet, and I would love to be taught! Great for this weeks theme word! My hunt is up please come and visit soon
ReplyDeletei have never learned how to crochet, much more using plarn. Nice one, Mar! :)
ReplyDeleteYour creative and that is unique too. Happy weekend. Mine is ready also.

I can knit but never learned to crochet.
ReplyDeleteMine is up...
That is neat... using your plastic bags to make something else... Loved this!
ReplyDeleteHmmm... based on what they managed to create, wouldn't call your hands ungifted at all, Mar! :)
ReplyDeleteWow~ A nice plastic decorative piece made from an unusual thing- plastic bags! Innovative :)
ReplyDeletethat is a v beautiful shot of the ordinary.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea ! but what is it ?? A keyholder or a cover ?
ReplyDeleteIt seems to work rather quick so that's something for me. If I crochet a sweater for Mr. Gattino ? what do you think ? Platic bags I have enough !
Very crafty.
ReplyDeleteI don't know that I would care for the skivvies made from plarn. I have been considering making a parn rug for the kitchen door. We keep our shoes out there and I'd like them off the ground, but on something that can handle getting rain splashed.
ReplyDeleteI think you did an awesome and original job with the theme. Take a bow!
i am impressed with the idea. will try it out too but not crochet but something similar to recycle plastic bags. thanks for the idea
ReplyDeleteI think I did start off something made from plastic bags once, but didn't persist. Now you've made me feel guilty! :) Great shot!
ReplyDeleteHow unique is that?!!! Crocheting with plastic. Wow.
ReplyDeleteMy Plastic Photo is found HERE

ReplyDeleteI should do that. Right now I have a bunch of canvas bags that I use for shopping so my stock pile of plastic bags is going down.
ReplyDeleteSo do we get to see your finished project?
that's cool and impressive and you get to help the enrvironment too.
ReplyDeleteGreat job and just another round or two and it will make a wonderful coaster. Thanks for the link back and if anyone needs plarn patterns, I offer all mine free at my blog site. Best wishes and happy green crafting!

ReplyDeleteMar... you always have the most unique contributions... :)
ReplyDeleteVery good recycling idea!
ReplyDeleteAnd what do you plan to make with this..... I guess it wouldn't work well for a pot holder... it would melt if it got too hot. It is cute though... and how talented to be able to crochet. Mine is up here.
