I saw this plant in Chile last January, I don't know what it is and I hope somebody will tell me its name in the comments (click to enlarge).
We lost a dear friend in Chicago yesterday. A heart attack took him away from us at age 55... I was the maid of honor in their wedding 28 years ago.
Updated to thank you all for the kind comments ...
It looks like cotton but isn't cotton or maybe a special sort ?

Mmmmmm, that heart attack at 55 is scary!!! My condolences Mar. I have no idea what the plant is...at first glance I thought maybe some sort of pampas grass then, nope, that's not it. Looks like this is the seed and perhaps the flowering itself is pink? I see a small area of pink behind it all...its this seeds and the pink flower?
