I spent the past two weeks skiing in the French Alps, admiring the beautiful Mont Blanc , which you can see here, the highest peak in the horizon. This shot was taken right after getting off a chairlift. I can't get enough of these majestic mountains, particularly with clear skies and sunshine. It's not only because I live by the sea, but because I grew up having the Andes as a reference point, no matter where I stood...
What an awesome shot!
ReplyDeleteIt must have been beautiful there.
Do you ever get the urge to sing the Karen Carpenter song (do you even know the song?)
ReplyDeleteI'm on the top of the world
looking down on creation
and the only explanation I can find,
is the love that I've found
ever since you've been around.
Your love's put me at the top of the world.
Too far to see him properly (I complain) ! If I had skis I could use them now, the ski stations in the Ardennes are all open of course ! After long meager years and a season starting end January, they are very happy now ! Today we have - 11°C ! I wish we would have global cooling instead of global warming !
ReplyDeleteIf I could see views like that I might just brave the cold and start skiing again. Tel Aviv is sort of short on snow-covered mountains though LOL.
ReplyDeleteLucky you! :-) Those mountains in the distance are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful. You must be very fit!
ReplyDeleteIt is SOOOO Very Beautiful there, Mar.....And it is obvious how much you love it there and those BEAUTIFUL Mountains! This is the closest I will ever get to The French Alps---or in fact, any part of The Alps...! What a JOY to see your pictures.
ReplyDeleteI can see why you loved it there ~ it is gorgeous!

Wow! What a beautiful place to ski! My sister loved skiing but I never learned. Too late now. I can see why you can't get enough of those mountains. Gorgeous! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteIncredible site. And you got to go home to the sea. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteYou tickle me! I LOVE that title! I'd like to see the WHOLE album! The views ARE spectacular...
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely breathtaking! You really got to see some majestic!
ReplyDeleteSnow covered mountains always put me in awe. Your picture is beautiful! I hope you snapped some up close shots of your "boys" for your family album too... you had a great backdrop.
ReplyDeleteI love having the mountains as a refence point here...they're always to the west of me. I often give directions using them..."head away from the mountains..." LOL! However, once we went to Salt Lake City. We arrived at night and woke to the mountains on the WRONG side of us. Very disturbing.
Great vacations! Excellent post!
ReplyDeleteHallo, thank you for visiting my blog! I love your picture of Mt. Blanc! I was skiing in the Austrian Alps for several times and I love it very much!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week!
Oh, wow, awesome photos of Mont Blanc. I have a friend who scaled Mont Blanc to the very top because her father did so years ago. Luckily she did it before he passed away in his 90's in Paris. I'll be back. Joann
ReplyDeleteGorgeous and lucky are the two words that come to mind.
ReplyDeleteI love the snow and I also love mountains, though I think it's because I didn't grow up with any ;) Nice pic!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful place to be for vacation! I don't get to see snow in my part of the world, so I wish I'd have a chance to do the same one day soon :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful scene, what a wonderful vacation!!
ReplyDeleteWow, Beautiful. Doesn't really look like global warming has kicked in there yet, huh? Have a safe and happy 2009!
ReplyDeleteAs always, lovely photos and a shudder at the thought of all that snow - glad you've had a grand time!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so cold, but also beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIsnt it odd how mountains and sea just stay in your blood. I'm often torn between the two.
ReplyDeleteLovely shot the Alps.
Great shot from your skiing trip Mar. I also love the mountains. My mother is from the mountains and we always spent a lot of time there visiting my grandmother when I was a child.
ReplyDeleteAwesome view. What a great place to ski. I'm more of a mountain person myself.
