This is a Botero sculpture at the Barcelona airport. His paintings and sculptures are noted for their exaggerated proportions and the corpulence of the figures. I was going through my archives and noticed the lady in red, the red suitcase and the shop ... Happy Ruby Tuesday!!
That reminds me of the Belgian farm horses ! My exposition was finished on Sunday evening. We had a lot of visitors, some paintings sold (not mine) but I got a lot of compliments for my flower decoration. Have you see them ?(on my photoblog) About the exposition I will post this week. I am very happy and satisfied with my new camera !!
ReplyDeleteI don't think our Belgian farm horses look like this one :-) Nice sculpture!
ReplyDeleteI like Bottero's horses better than his people. The paintings of women always seem too much like holding up a funhouse mirror and accentuating my own flaws.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the wonderful tour. This 2nd week of meme really makes us appreciate the many places that we don't usually see or ever had a chance to visit like the one you showed me in this post. Hope you get to have time to check my world too. Another great job and more to come in the coming weeks.
ReplyDeleteOh that is unusual kind of a horse if it is real hheeheh look huge. TC
ReplyDeleteA very well fed horse indeed. I've been to Barcelona but never to the airport.
ReplyDeleteNice photo of a great sculpture, is it really as huge as it looks?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great sculpture!
ReplyDeleteThat is a CHUNKY horse! Great sculpture! Isn't it funny how Ruby Tuesday made you take notice of the red stuff in the background? Bet you never would have noticed it otherwise... :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pic, I love seeing statues like this from all over the world. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteCheers!

Mar, the sculpture is right up my alley, large, corpulent figure! Ha! I see the RED too. Happy Ruby Tuesday! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the statue Mar!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed that you worked in both memes. I did last week but couldn't this week. :)

ReplyDeleteI get to see it in person next Monday...I'm not looking forward to it. :p
I like your horse much better!
Interesting and nice pic:)
ReplyDeleteThat's quite some statue and waht a great place to situate it for all to see
ReplyDeleteI love the art in airports. It is usually so indicative of something in the area, so it is quite interesting to me! (Like the red additions, too!)
ReplyDeleteNever seen a Botero sculpture before, thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is an interesting sculpture and so nice you get to see it when you are at the airport.
ReplyDeleteNice one, it's great when one spots those red objects in a picture that's about something quite else:) Some years ago since I was in Barcelona, I don't remember this lovely statue or perhaps I didn't pay enough attention...
ReplyDeleteOh I like that, very interesting!
ReplyDeleteI've always enjoyed this artists work. Thanks for sharing it with us!

ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful airport terminal!
ReplyDeleteHe must be a Clydesdale!! LOL
ReplyDeleteThat is quite the robust sculpture! :0)
ReplyDeleteI can certainly see this artist's exaggerated proportions! :P
ReplyDeleteI just wonder what kind of work that horse could be good at. Roadwork would probably be good.
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
ReplyDeleteVisit my blog to see my post about our national celebration.
Looks like this "My Little Pony" [Hasbro toy] is in need of a diet!
ReplyDeleteAt first glance, I thought it's made from chocolate. I must be craving some for me to think that. Ha ha!
ReplyDeleteGreat! Can't say that I'm a Butero fan - but this one is actually more to my liking then most of what I've seen so far!
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
Cheers, Klaus
Botero is wonderful, I love almost all Botero art works. Remember my photo of a Botero painting?
