Because I have more pictures of the Millau Viaduct from the prior post, taken when we got closer to it and visited the information office, which is rather a small museum, with detailed information, a film about the making of the bridge, souvenirs, etc. The perspective from down below is breathtaking and the clean and sleek design simply amazing. I took all these pictures last July with a post in mind (!), little did I know Alice was going to host the photo challenge Bridging the Gap this week - another addictive challenge! Thank you, Alice, it has been fun looking for bridges and I realized I like them as a subject for a picture, that's why I found many in my archives. So many, some of them didn't even get a chance to be published. Maybe for an upcoming photo challenge!
This is a very beautiful bridge, Mar, and one of the things I most love about it is that it has taken up very little of the land to have it standing there. The traffic can go whizzing wherever it needs to go without violating the land.
ReplyDeleteI'm very glad you are enjoying this Photo Challenge. Would you like to have it go to a weekly meme? I'm playing with that thought, though so far have made no decisions on it.
Whoof. Thanks fur showing some more piktures of that same bridge. Gave us a closer look at it and at the things that keep it up in the air like that. Bark!
ReplyDeleteThese bridge is really amazing ! Doesn't disturb the landscape at all !
ReplyDeleteThat bridge is definitely worth showcasing in several posts. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI like these shots better than the others...such interesting perspectives. I especially like that last one!
ReplyDeleteThis is a unique bridge. Seems so narrow. I like the sleek design.
ReplyDeleteIt really is a stunning bridge! I'd like to see a picture of the road part of it too -- it appears there are NO railings on this bridge? Scary!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you showed us these detailed shots Mar. The perspective is great and the bridge is a wonder. Fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI think the only thing more amazing than the bridge is your beautiful pictures of it.
ReplyDeleteDo you win prizes for all the great pictures?
this bridge is so elegant it truly deserves another post! and your photos do it justice.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you posted more of this one.
ReplyDeleteClean and sleek design is the perfect description.

ReplyDeletethat looks really, really cool -- but I'd be scared to death to drive on it!
ReplyDeletea bridge!!! Sorry!
ReplyDeleteMillau is not that far across country from my parents and I was completely in awe when I visited BUT some cousins of my parents went who apparently thought "oh just another bridge!" I think they must have been on drugs ;o)
