I took a short walk down the hill on Sunday to go get the paper. This is the neighbors' gargoyle (a spout, terminating in a grotesque representation of a human or animal figure with open mouth, projecting from the gutter of a building for throwing rain water clear of a building. Source) . I liked the morning silhouettes but I'd still like to get a sharp macro of that gargoyle with the afternoon sun. Oh, and that's the Mediterranean Sea- another neighbor of mine - in the background.

One of life's pleasures!!
You and your neighbours have a great view of the Mediteranean Sea!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have siesta in Asia. Some people do take a nap at home in the afternoon but it is allowed at work. :)
Nespresso is a brand of coffee promoted by George Clooney?
I had a lovely siesta yesterday and I woke to my love cooking dinner. Alas, I did not siesta by the Mediterranean Sea, I siesta-ed on the living room couch -- but it's only a mile from the Pacific Ocean. Does that count?
ReplyDeleteMar,
ReplyDeleteOhhhh... Thanks for the link. He's so attractive!
btw... do you have George Clooney's email? hahahahaha....
That thing looks like a vomitating snake, lol ! Couldn't they put a Manneken pis for the water ??
ReplyDeleteI just published some greek statues I saw in the Museum of Olympia. From the Zeus & Hera temple only rubbles are left, so they put what they found in a museum.

ReplyDeleteThe closest I am to any Mediterranean stuffs is the food only :P
That's one interesting gargoyle. Seems to have plenty to say to the sea. Wonderful photo. Hope you had a nice siesta.
ReplyDeleteI love gargoyles - be they spouts or statues! I would love to see a good macro as well! (do you have to use a tridpod when you macro? I'm not having much luck with mine... I think a tripod is necessary... maybe it's just me... )
ReplyDeleteMar, darling, I am ALL ABOUT the siesta! BM ...haha... Before Mom... a siesta was one of life's little necessities! It was the hardest habit I had to break immediately upon her arrival!
What a relaxing time looking at the view :)
ReplyDeleteA sleeping hat picture. Now what could beat that for S?
ReplyDeleteThe gargoyle is wild looking and my what a view. You are so clever with the alphabet theme. Great shot of the hat to symbolize a siesta.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have that kind of view just outside your window :)
ReplyDeleteHappy WS!
WOW, what a fantastic view... to see this out of my window, well, I would never stop looking out my window...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice comment on my blog and congratulations to you as well for being featured on the WS.
Congratulations for being featured this week, Mar.
ReplyDeleteThe view from your window is priceless. And the siesta? Filipinos have that too (though not all especially the working people), a trait we got from our Spanish colonizers.
Have a great week :)

I think we need to adopt the siesta here. Though I do wonder how many would nap and how many would go about their day.
