Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you'll never change.
And this bird you cannot change.

- Free Bird/ Lynyrd Skynyrd

Meet a queltehue (Southern Lapwing, Vanellus Chilensis, aka Chilean Lapwing) "Southern Lapwings are typically found in fields and wetlands, but also inhabit meadows, parks and gardens in urban areas. They serve as sentries by day and night, alerting everyone and everything to perceived danger by sounding a loud, strident, metallic call. They feed mainly on insects, and are very beneficial to agriculture. These birds live in pairs or in small flocks. They nest in early July, which is midwinter in the Southern Hemisphere. Their cryptic plumage renders them nearly invisible to the naked eye". Source. For more information, click here. There is a list of birds of Chile here.
