weekend snapshot: a blue xmas tree

I was on the Canary Islands over the weekend. In Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. And this the blue Christmas tree we encountered during our stroll. It was only a few steps away from our hotel and on the pedestrian zone along the beach, facing the Atlantic. Getting closer :


And when we sat down to have dinner we could still see it on the left. Note the beach right behind the metal fence, the water on the right of the picture. We had pleasant 20ÂșC/ 68F every evening. And the beach (Las Canteras beach, occupying 3.8 km / 2.36 miles of coast line and one of the biggest urban beaches in the world) remained illuminated all night.

  1. What a wonderful Christmas tree that must have been. Though I prefer the red, green and gold, still, a blue one looks good for me :)

  8. Isn't that GORGEOUS??? WOW!!! Now... in Spain do they call it a "Holiday Tree"? Or are you guys still allowed to call it a CHRISTMAS tree?

  15. Oh my ! Gran Canaria in a Christmas dress ! Must be funny ! Doesn't it look a little Las Vegas like ?
    We spent several times Christmas in Tenerife that was really very ENGLISH and very nice !!
    The only negative thing with Linkme-up is that you always have to delete the links of the day before otherwise you will have double and triple links ! I clean it up every day.
