I want to ride my bicycle

Instead I took the train to Barcelona this morning…to watch Le T*our” live! together with my camera, which reminded me how often I am confronted with this week’s theme for the Photo Hunt:
gar·bage n.
3. a. Worthless or nonsensical matter; rubbish

Despite my best efforts for a good picture I often end up with many garbage/worthless shots, an example of which is found below. A couple of hours ago I was watching the bikers go through this busy avenue downtown Barcelona, the tour's 7th stage. But here the trees are on the way and it’s a busy picture… The only positive point is that you can see the yellow jersey right in the middle of the picture (concentration is required!), quite relaxed biking with his arms behind his back. Find further below other no-prize-winner shots of this amazing event! the weather wasn't cooperative either (and with all the excitement I forgot to select the "cloudy" setting...) as the day began overcast and dark. There was no time to concentrate on the subject as the bikers only need a couple of seconds to ride by… It was simply "shoot and hope the snapshot is at least not blurry"! Here they come!!

  1. I like your take on this theme Mar. You got some good shots and what fun to get to go see it live like this. So I'm pretty sure that I spotted Lance in the first shot where you told us where to look. I also think I spotted him in the one where you said it was our turn, if he was a few people behind the red car.

  19. A great way to illustrate the theme, even if I question your judgement over what might be a garbage shot. :) You need to see some of my rejects!

  23. That's not garbage at all Mar. You should try taking the shot of the garbage they throw on the floor after each drink check points. :P

  25. I don't know if I would consider them worthless. As for Lance.. being up in the top five after being off for several years now is amazing in itself.
My construction trash or garbage is up.

  26. As someone who takes a LOT of photos, I end up with a LOT of garbage shots. I often try and see if I can do anything with a shot that might turn it into a treasure. It sometimes happens. I usually manipulate it using my editing software and see what happens. When you get lemons.... make lemonade!
