F is for fachwerk house

F is for....Fachwerk House. Timber framing (German: Fachwerk literally "framework"), or half-timbering, is the method of creating structures using heavy timbers jointed by pegged mortise and tenon joints.(Source). This is a picture from last June in Germany, where I saw many of this type. The chosen one is, in addition, a so-called Bügeleisenhaus (iron house), because its form resembles a domestic iron!  I found a more official picture here.  Brought to you by ABC Wednesday
