Warm clothing is essential to enjoy skiing. I don't know the fellow pictured here, I  simply wanted a shot of the slope and he quickly skied by.  It all happens for a reason and now I can use the picture for the theme, notice his warm clothing and the wonderful warm sun's rays, just a gorgeous day!!

* it's Friday!!

Here are the  fill-ins:

1. Give me some time  and I'll catch up on your blog... I was a month away from the blogosphere.

2. Whenever I eat a chocolate doughnut, my stomach complains. That's whay I don't anymore :(

3. I wish I had perfect vision (or at least the one I had when I was 35!)

4. A piece of "tarte aux myrtilles"- blueberry tart  was the last thing I ate that was utterly delicious. It's always a special treat!

5. To live in this world,  much tolerance is needed.

6. Other than this one, the FFI's  is the last blog I commented on.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to a quiet evening with our company from Germany, tomorrow my plans include hosting a small luncheon and Sunday, I     we want to celebrate our friend's birthday! yes, he is the one visiting.

I love all blues!! Including but not limited to the pictures from my archives shown here: 1) "my" beach. 2) tiles in my home.3) A blue bottle in my dining room. 4) Dusk. 5) my guest towels 6) A tiny birthday candle. 7) Denim. These are placemats. 8) Party! this was an event on top of a building in Barcelona last summer.

Alphabet Challenge: I & J

While I was away on vacation, our wonderful  Melli started this Alphabet Challenge.  I am able to join in for I & J, straight out of recent ski holidays... 

I found these perfect wooden I's while taking a walk, even with a dot of snow!  they also look like giant matches. This shot  would qualify for Ruby Tuesday as well, don't you think?? 

A perfect J graciously holds the chairlift from the cable! all these years of skiing and I have never noticed this before... I admit cheating on this one since I had to flip the picture , uh-oh!

The French Alps are the right place to spend Valentine's Day as they love to use hearts for decoration!  I realize the bright sun and snow outside have a rather annoying effect on this picture, it's sort of the way I feel today as I have a dentist appointment  for an implant and removal of the neighbor wisdom tooth... (update: I got to keep the wisdom tooth, but still it wasn't pleasant, ha!) Please be kind to me, even if I don't get around this afternoon!!

finding my way back to blogging

while enjoying a week of skiing in the Alps. The weather hasn't been cooperative but the landscape is awesome as always. Quite a contrast to the hot summer temperatures I was experiencing just a week ago in South America...

Strong winds appeared in our area about 10 days ago while I was gone. Many pine trees were pulled by the roots, like the pictured one,  a very unusual sight ! this tree used to be in a roundabout close to my home. We lost one tree in our garden  but the house wasn't damaged, only a wall shared with a  neighbor, so it wasn't too bad. 

I just got  back from my trip and I am dealing with jet lag... I have a terribly busy week but I will start  blogging on a regular basis very soon, if I remember how to do it... At least I remembered my password!  See you soon.
